PINK SATURDAY November 14, 2009

Hello fellow Pinks! We aren't "bundling up" yet here in New Jersey...but its only a matter of time!
We are having some remnants of tropical storm Ida right now, experiencing some coastal flooding & my favorite, sideways rain! Tomorrow will hopefully bring a little sunshine.

I found a bag of these little snowmen in the back of a drawer in my craft room...I think I purchased them 10 years ago! So I grabbed a little spool to set him on, covered it all in pink paint & added some embellishments.
ps..He eventually got some eyes.

For Plenty of Perfect Pinks, be sure to stop by and say hello to our PINK SATURDAY host Beverly at How Sweet the Sound

Morning Walks

I have always loved to start my day with a morning walk. Some days it's more of a "power walk" than others...but none the less, I have found it to be a great way for me to clear my head & focus on all my important things.. like gratitude & creativity.
Of all the seasons, Fall is my very favorite. Each year I walk past these regal lion statues with their silly Halloween masks & it just makes my day.
So this is my Happy Fall Greeting I wanted to share with you today!
Embrace your day!!....xo Tami

PINK Saturday October 17

Thank you Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for being our host today!

I am in the process of designing & crafting my Christmas ornaments for my website & etsy shop. Spread all over my work table was a collection of the little things I had been crafting with.....So I gathered everything up and tucked it all in a little pink chest for my PINK SATURDAY presentation!

I feel so inspired just looking at all the pretty little bits I have collected. That inspiration has kept me busy designing some special Cottage ornies for the Holidays.

The little jewels in the center (below) are from last weeks flea market score!

Cottage Style Makeover

I have this little room off my dining room that became a "catch all" for everything. "Well, enough is enough", I said! I had the hardwood floors refinished & I painted the walls "aqua mist". I went around my house and collected some shabby furniture pieces and now we have this cozy little sun room!

We have already put the room to good use.... from sharing a glass of wine & conversation with friends.. to a perfect little nook to enjoy Sunday Brunch ...oh yes..the cats LOVE the windows!

PINK SATURDAY September 26

Thank you Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for hosting another Pink Saturday. I look so forward to getting up on a Saturday morning, making a big cup of coffee & visiting some of the prettiest blog posts on the web.

Who can possibly resist a kitty in a pink floral apron with a tea cup?
Definitely not me!!!!
I purchased this beautiful print from PatriciasPalette on etsy. If you get a chance, stop by and see this talented artist's work.
This kitty was too special for any old frame, so I painted a shadow box pink, added the print & embellished her with lace, ribbons & flowers.

She now watches over my kitchen.
Below is a set of my pink sugar stars I designed this week.
The verdict is in.....I am officially addicted to glitter!

The Enchanted Gypsy

Since I am a seller on Etsy, I have made many wonderful friends. One of my favorite customers, recently opened her new Etsy shop.

I fell in love with her style right away. She is a little Goth, a little shabby & puts together some really special mixed media art.
She is truly a kindred spirit & I am proud to own one of her designs.

(She shared with me a card from one of her favorite Folk Artists in MN. Yvonne Brown).
LOVE IT!!!
Stop by and say hello to Denise at The Enchanted Gypsy!

WELCOME OLLIE

I want to introduce my new "Granddog" Ollie.
He is a 11 week old welsh terrier. A new addition to my daughter & son-in-law's life.
One look and I was in love.

This is our neighbor, Penny. She is a sweet Sheltie pup the same age as Ollie.
She stopped by for a visit to get acquainted.

September 19th

Happy Pink Saturday!
Wanted to share my new pink slippers. They are very fuzzy & cozy.

Next is my glitter skull I designed this week.
I think every scary skull needs some pink roses!

And this is my new kitten, Jersey.
I adopted her from a shelter & she had many health issues. We finally got her healthy & strong. She has brought so much happiness & joy into my heart.
She is a total "cuddle bug" & loves pink blankets!

Wishing a beautiful pink day to all my pink blogging friends!

Sunday Morning Flea Markets

We love Sunday morning flea markets and today I felt very lucky to have found this pretty dress form for just $3.00! The top is tiny little flowers with yards of tulle & feather angel wings.

I only made one small change, the dress was embellished with a lot of gold roses & leaves. I carefully removed most of them & added my pink & white touches.
This pretty dress, fit for a princess, found a new home on my pink dresser!

Olivia's Mermaid Birthday Party

My friend Christine hosted her daughter Olivia's 4th birthday party on Saturday. She designed an Under the Sea Mermaid party with all the details.
Many little mermaids were swimming in the pool. Here are the cupcake picks she designed & hand made. (I baked the cupcakes.)

Each little mermaid had her picture taken!
My favorite...A special party guest poses for the camera!

AUGUST 1, 2009 IT'S PINK SATURDAY!!

Thank you Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for hosting Pink Saturday! It is so much fun meeting up with everyone!

A couple of weeks ago we visited Shupps Grove in Reinholds, Pennsylvania for an antique bottle show & flea market. I walked past this display of pink depression glass for sale & told my husband I just had to take a picture for Pink Saturday...it was so lovely. Pink glass everywhere!!
As we walked around I saw this huge wooden rack covered with vintage rolling pins. I said, "I love this, I have to take a picture"! My husband said, "What's that for? "Rolling Pin" Thursday? Well needless to say, I started laughing & forgot to even snap the picture!! Quite the jokester that one.
Anyways...have a lovely day blessed with many shades of pink!

It's all about the PINK on SATURDAY!

Hello all my PINK SATURDAY Blog Friends!
Pink has always been my color. I feel like I have struck gold when I find something that is that "perfect shade" of pink.
Here is one of my favorite books topped with several of my little vintage finds & hats. My husband dug the little bottle with the crown stopper.
Thank you for stopping in for a visit...I will be in PA this morning for an antique bottle show & flea market...but I will catch up with everyone later in the day.
Happy Pink Saturday!!

Pink Saturday

A Pink Saturday Welcome!

This is my first time to participate in Pink Saturday. One of my blog followers told me my posts were perfect for pink Saturday...This sounded like something perfect for me... so I did a little detective work & I found Beverly. She welcomed me to the group & I look forward to meeting some new blogging friends! Thank you for stopping by for a visit!

A friend of mine gave me an interesting old wooden board that was from an old factory. It was used for ironing or pressing. I painted it cottage pink, added my hand painted roses and now it welcomes friends by my back door.
The little girl in the pot was found by my husband. He digs antique bottles from old sites around New Jersey & finds many little turn of the century treasures.

Cottage Style.. today's new design

I designed this today & wanted to share all its "pinkness" with my blogging friends! You know those days when you just can't get enough pink & glitter? I have those a lot.

I have been on a waiting list with a website designer for 6 months...and in about 1 to 2 weeks I will ready to work with the Graphic Designer for pinkbuttercreme's official website. I am really getting excited & a bit nervous too.
Wish me luck.

Gingerbread's Gift Shop

If you visit Historic Ocean Grove on the Jersey Shore, make one of your stops Gingerbread's on Main Street.

This Victorian inspired shop is filled with everything from vintage tea sets to perfumed bath soaps. Little treasures are tucked away in every nook. Pretty lace curtains & table cloths, needlepoint pillows, Christie Repasy paintings, Steiff bears & the works of local artists.
I am pleased to announce you can find my hand made items featured at this charming gift shop.

So after a lazy day at the beach...grab an ice cream, take a stroll on Main Street & stop in and say hello to Terry, Proprietress at Gingerbread's.

What makes MY heart skip a beat...

My favorite room is my Cottage Style kitchen so I thought I would feature it today for the blog party...this is an old element I stumbled across many years ago and painted it up for my kitchen.
Below is a collection of butter pats that my husband found over the years from all of his bottle digging trips.
My kitchen is filled with little collections!

More things my heart loves.......

I agree with Marcela...I love the chippy finishes. I found this mirror at an antique show in Philly. Its new happy home is in my kitchen!

Moving out of the kitchen... I had to share this cozy PINK afghan my mom knitted for me.

This is my vanity mirror I found at a Flea Market for $5.

Chocolate Cupcake Heaven

Some of you may have already discovered these, (I love all the tips from Hungry Girl.com) but for those who haven't, I just had to share this with you...If you are like me, I have to watch everything that passes my lips these days. These delicious chocolate darlings are called Vita Muffins. They have 100 calories, 6 g fiber, 3 g protein & 1.5 g fat. (That is only 1 weight watchers point!)

Now you are probably wondering about the frosting (best part)... I used 2 tbsp. weight watchers whipped cream cheese, sprinkled in a little splenda & a few drops of vanilla.

So for only 2 WW points this is decadent chocolate heaven for sure.

Blue Decorations

Looking around my house for blue...I noticed I didn't have too much...I really go crazy with the green & pink!...but here are some very sweet hyacinths, my favorite bluejay done by my friend Lin & some antique blue bottles filled with little flowers I picked on my morning walk.

I like the challange of looking around my house & using what I have to make a project come together. I planted these grape hyacinth bulbs in white cereal bowls for my Easter dinner centerpieces. I think it will be a great contrast with my spring green tablecloth...and the pretty little flowers will be planted in my yard for next season.

A work in progress...I am making Easter baskets for my mom & daughter. I found these pretty lavender baskets at the dollar store & I am gluing  silk flowers around the rim. Soon I will fill them with treats & make the Easter Bunny proud!

PRETTY FOR EASTER

Victorian Shaker Collection

This is one of our favorite collections
The colors of this old Victorian glass speak to me.  Some of these shakers were purchased years back from an on-line auction site & some were dug from the ground by my husband on his antique bottle digging trips.  I  can close my eyes & only imagine a beautifully decorated Victorian table with all these colorful pieces.

DIGGING FOR ANTIQUE BOTTLES

BOTTLE DIGGING TREASURES
For those of you who follow my blog, you know I like to do posts featuring the antique bottles & other vintage items my husband digs out of the ground from old sites around New Jersey.  I get a lot of questions & interest on the technique of finding all these special things.

So for a bit history...He digs from old dump sites from around the turn of the century.  These were old town dumps. He usually finds these places tucked away in the woods. He also has old maps.
In these old sites the bulk of what is left in the ground is the glass. The metal & cans are long gone, as well as anything paper, cardboard, etc.

When the town dump was retired, it was covered with fill dirt and through the years is grown over with trees & brush.
He uses his shovel & pitch fork and digs deep for countless hours. As you can see, many little treasures are unearthed. It is a hobby he loves...which you would have to love because it is very labor intense!

This is a little showcase that is filled with many things we have found over the years. There are always surprises & a little history to be found.

SWEET TREASURES

My husband went digging for antique bottles today & brought home these sweet treasures!

What are the odds of finding a vintage chick candy container right around Easter time! He is just so sweet. He dates around the 1930's & my husband said when he found him he still had his original yellow paint! Can you imagine? Unfortunately, being in the ground for so long, it is impossible to keep the paint intact.
Also on today's dig he found this tiny little blue depression glass tea cup. I am sure part of a child's tea set.  I could just dream of having the entire set!

How about this cute little pot lid too..Maybe once belonged to a tea pot? Sugar bowl? or a decorative urn.
I adore these little treasures!

Cottage Style PINK Dresser

There is something about a
Cottage Style PINK DRESSER
that makes me happy!
My mom's neighbor was getting rid of this dresser & I thought it had great bones. I was right, some pink paint & a little TLC was all it needed!

I love miniatures & dollhouses, so I wanted to share this sweet piece I made today.
Available in my etsy shop.

Dreaming of Spring

I have been looking out my kitchen window daydreaming of the warm days ahead... of where I might place a pot or two of daffodils, or how nice the patio furniture will look finally uncovered, with its fluffy cushions welcoming an outdoor supper.

I love Spring. I love the transition from my winter socks & boots to my flip flops! I just got my spring pedicure...so bring on the sunshine!

Dollhouse Cottage

When my daughter, Jen was five (she is now 33) her grandpa built this charming little dollhouse cottage for her.  She played with the little house for years & it became to look very shabby (not in the chic kind of way!) .
A few years ago, her and I pulled it out & decided to "freshen" it up a bit &  do some well needed reapairs & interior decorating.

This sweet little cottage,  now on display in my guest room,  holds a special meaning for both of us.  Not only is it full of childhood memories for Jen, it was a gift from her beloved grandpa. Each time I peek in the room & see this precious little house, I am reminded how blessed I am to have my beautiful daughter who is also my best friend!
