From the Garden Lily of the Valley
Each year my Lily of the Valley comes back stronger.
It is one of those simple little wonders that brings me so much joy.
I am so excited when finally the ground is covered with these beautiful tiny flowers that smell amazing.
They don't last long so I savor each bouquet & I always put together little bundles and share with all my neighbors.
My first year to plant peony bushes. If we could just get a little more warm weather & sunshine here at the Jersey Shore maybe these buds will pop open!
Pink peonies are topping my favorite flower list.
Also my first year to plant some climbing roses. These were bare root when I purchased them so they are making wonderful progress. Keeping my fingers crossed.
What is popping up in your garden this week?

My Secret Garden
I carved out a little spot in my yard & designed my "secret garden".
Now my secret garden is really no "secret" - it is in plain sight, but working in the fresh air with the earth, & mother nature is so magical that maybe it is a little "secret" to adding more happiness into your day!
This big tree with the ivy made a perfect backdrop.
My little garden will be an on going work in progress. It is so relaxing to spend time creating outdoors.
I plan to add more color, but it has been a pretty chilly spring here at the Jersey Shore.
Below are some close ups of the sweet little "secrets" hiding in the garden.....
Perhaps a future home for some baby birds?
I added a silly knob to this old white bird house. I painted a craft store picture frame blue and nailed it on.
My husband & I found these wonderful mushrooms at a flea market last summer. I was so happy he was with me because this piece is incredibly heavy!
This chandelier/candle holder is a garage sale find. I love the chippy paint and rust. I added a few pots of ivy for now but my plans are to fill it with colorful flowers in pots soon. The spikes sticking out are for candles..but they work perfectly to hold a terracotta pot in place!
I love the color pink and a pink azalea is beautiful way to welcome spring.
I hope you enjoyed my Secret Garden. Have a great week!

Seasonal Room Makeover with Slipcovers
I have had my furniture for so long..its overstuffed & really comfortable.
To keep things fresh, I like to use slipcovers.
Slipcovers have come a long way from a blanket style throw that was impossible to keep in place.
Now you can find these stretch velvet covers with decorative piping & separate seat covers.
(I found these online at SureFit)
I even have different pillow covers that I have made to match the slipcover I choose to use.
It's refreshing to have a different look for the seasons.
Above is my Spring/Summer living room.
Cozy, comfortable, fresh & welcoming!
On my fireplace mantle.
This Pink Ranunculus is a supermarket find.
They are ridiculously gorgeous!
Is anyone else doing a little seasonal makeover?
I would love to hear about what you are up to.

Welcome to my Sunroom
My Sunroom....
This is my go to place for an afternoon coffee,
a little reading, or relaxing with my tablet.
a little reading, or relaxing with my tablet.
My friend and neighbor sold me this vintage PINK chaise.
When you sink down into this wonderful piece, you do not want to get back up!
It was such a perfect fit for this room, I redesigned the whole sun room around it!
The cozy afghan was made by my mom.

Craft room helpers
I found this pink polka-dot shelf liner at Wal-Mart...
Pink? How could I resist?
I cut off a long piece and added it to my craft table.
It lays down perfectly & makes the best mat to catch all my messes.
When I need a clean sheet, I'll cut another piece off the roll.
These are recycled jars from my kitchen.
I painted the lids with pink & white spray paint & added my new guilty pleasure...
Rose Decals!
I do hand paint roses...but come on these are so easy & look amazing!!
Recycled honey jar for safety pins.
Have a great week!!!

Craft Room Organization
As I welcome in 2013, I feel compelled to organize.
My craft room was getting a bit chaotic..
You know when you have all kinds of things you can't find? and you buy more?
That's where I was.
I found these great organizing baskets at Target.
I put my "Pinkbuttercreme" touch on them
adding some pink pom pom trim and designed some labels.
I have blogged about my craft room in the past...
but for those who missed it I wanted to share my craft storage hutch.
The base is two metal cabinets my husband found for me.
I painted them white with pale pink drawer pulls.
They are side by side with a long wooden top keeping them together.
The 3 white bookshelves are from Walmart and I placed them across the top.
Lots of great storage
Every drawer is filled too.
I made the tags from glitter scrap booking paper.
Printed the content words on off white paper and antiqued the edges.
Tied on with an aqua ribbon.
My craft room is in our unfinished basement.
With a little imagination you can make any space a wonderful place to create!
Over the summer I found a box of these spools at the flea market.
They were absolutely perfect to organized my supply of lace!
Have a wonderful week & happy organizing!

Kitchen Tree
Here is my white feather tree in the kitchen window.
It is the perfect place to showcase these fun little vintage elves
I also hang cupcake ornaments, cookie cutters & small kitchen utensils.
Over the years I have collected these vintage elves at flea markets & I found some on line too.
The little white cup was found when my husband was digging for antique bottles.
This one is my favorite. I think he may be the oldest.
These little red ones have made in Japan stickers on the back
My kitchen is blessed with sweetness

Winter skates
My friend is having a skating party for her daughter in January.

Holiday Porches
Welcome to my porch down the Jersey Shore
Pink Saturday celebrates Holiday Porches today!
If you would like to join in the fun
visit our Hostess Beverly at How Sweet the Sound
I found this vintage sled and pair of ice skates at the flea market over the summer.
I laced up the skates with red velvet ribbons!
When cleaning up after Hurricane Sandy, I kept these fresh greens for the sled.
Hope you enjoyed stopping by my porch today!
Have a great weekend & Happy Pink Saturday!
